Pets age much faster than us making semi-annual and yearly physicals even more necessary than our own. WellCare visits include a “nose to tail” examination as well wellness blood work. We recommend full wellness blood work during every annual well care visit, regardless of the pet’s age, because it allows us to detect subtle changes in organ function, blood cell counts, and overall health long before outward symptoms appear. Even young, healthy pets can have hidden conditions that are best addressed early, when treatment is often more effective and less costly. These results also provide a valuable baseline for your pet, making it easier to spot changes over time and tailor care to their individual needs. While we believe full screening offers the most complete picture, we understand that budgets vary. If full wellness blood work isn’t possible, we’re happy to discuss other options to still gather important health information for your pet.
